Will the Madison Media report the real harm being done by the downtown takeover?

The media is sanitizing the news coming out of the takeover of Madison Madison, Wi. July 28, 2026. The Republican Party of Dane County expresses outrage and bewilderment at the lawlessness and destructiveness of the current takeover of Madison by the Democratic Socialists (DSA). We call upon the local media to do their jobs and report the devastating harm being done with every passing hour. How are businesses and workers being affected? What is the cost to the city and to the those who live and work in the area? Are proper codes and laws otherwise stringently enforced being upheld? How are the police being supported following what has been a totally demoralizing week? How is the police presence in the takeover area affecting the other parts of Madison in need of policing?

As elections draw near, we remind voters that what is happening in Madison could easily be a template for all of Wisconsin. And finally, we cannot help but wonder, who is actually in charge of the city of Madison? Dane County Republican Party represents the approximate 30% of residents in Dane County who are conservative. We believe that the strength of our nation lies with the individual, and that each person’s God-given dignity, freedom, ability, and responsibility must be honored. We believe in free enterprise and equal rights and justice for all.
